Thank you Modi

When Pakistan declared itself invincible by carrying out a nuclear explosion on May 28, 1998, Nazir Naji wrote a column saying, “Thank you Vajpayee,” because if India had not carried out a nuclear explosion in Pokhran on May 11, 1998, Pakistan would not have had this justification. In this context, I have to thank Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. If Modiji had not made the foolishness of venturing against Pakistan after the attack on the paramilitary force in Pulwama and the firing on tourists in Pahalgam, our forces would not have had the opportunity to prove themselves as a leaden wall for the defense of the country. The world would never have known that the skies of this region are dominated by the falcons of the Pakistan Air Force and no one, including India, dares to challenge it. The whole world is curious as to how the Pakistan Air Force inflicted the worst defeat on an enemy three times its size on the night of May 6-7 and how it was able to defeat them?

After the Balakot surgical strike, when Pakistan shot down two Indian MiG-21 fighter jets and captured pilot Abhinandan, Modi had said that the situation would have been different if we had Rafale. The Indian Air Force was confident that this time they had the French fighter jet Rafale, which is considered invincible, but the Pakistan Air Force crushed their pride. What happened that night was not just an air clash but an explosive revelation, which shattered the myth of India’s air superiority, which its Western allies had been spreading for years. The Indian Air Force had been busy preparing for several days. About 180 Indian aircraft were ready to attack the western front. Their aim was clear, to repeat the Balakot adventure, shatter Pakistan’s dream of defense, and prove its power by proving its strategic superiority in the region. Rafale, which was claimed to never miss its target, did not get a chance to strike. The Rafale jets, which are considered more powerful than the modern fighter jet F-35, fell like lifeless birds and were defeated by the J-10C. So was it a technological superiority? A victory of French weapons over China? This impression is completely wrong and tantamount to turning a blind eye to reality. Don’t you remember the 1965 war? Pakistan had old American-made F-86 Sabre jets while the Indian Air Force was flying modern British-made Hawker Hunter jets. The general impression was that the PAF’s Sabre jets could not compete with the Indian Hawker Hunter jets. But during the 17-day war, 110 Indian fighter jets were destroyed while 18 PAF fighter jets were destroyed.

At that time, the Russian MiG-21 was among the most modern aircraft, but the PAF’s Shaheens, led by Squadron Leader Syed Sajjad Haider, destroyed these Indian planes on the ground at the Pathankot air base. If success depended solely on technology, what did India lack? French-made Rafale aircraft, Russian-made S-400 defense system and Israeli Harop drones. As a result of this war, the magic of Western technological superiority has definitely been broken, French defense contracts have been jeopardized and the demand for Chinese-made weapons has increased, but this feat has been accomplished by Pakistani falcons. Now the game has changed, India's dream of air superiority has been shattered by the purchase of 36 Rafale aircraft, Spectra EW radars, and a system based on French engineering in the air. This is why Modi ji had to approach Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United States for a ceasefire.

Opportunities to move forward in the lives of nations do not come again and again. We have got a second chance to restore our identity, correct mistakes and make a new beginning. For the first time, we were victorious on May 28, 1998 when we got the honor of becoming the first nuclear power in the Islamic world. Those friendly countries that did not take Pakistan into account, started looking at us with respect and dignity. In the context of the economic sanctions imposed after the nuclear explosions, Pakistan's problems were understood and cooperation was provided in solving them. But in the last few years, it has become a familiar fact among every friend and enemy that when they see us, they come to us with a shovel and ask for help. India also tried to squeeze the same painful vein of ours and tried to stop the new installment of loans from the IMF. Now that a new era has begun in the East and the West, not only our own but also our foreign counterparts have recognized our defense capabilities, the fact has become clear to everyone that Pakistan is not a trifle and is capable of defeating an enemy many times bigger than itself. Our allies, who have supported us in every difficult time for years, have also felt the pleasant feeling that the investment made in Pakistan has not been wasted but has proven to be very profitable. Muslim countries are boasting about our strength, so it is time to take care of ourselves. This is an opportunity to change Pakistan's destiny by addressing its economic problems. The same solidarity and unity that was demonstrated during the five-day war with India, if the same unity and unity is demonstrated to deal with other problems facing the country, then we can succeed in making Pakistan excel on the economic front as well. That is why I am grateful and thankful to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing this opportunity to Pakistan.

Pakistan's glorious victory and India's Embarrassment

The various wars and tensions between Pakistan and India are an important part of history. In these wars, the Pakistani army not only defended its borders but also demonstrated its military capabilities on the global stage. The successes of the Pakistani army in these wars reflect its professionalism, bravery and strategy.

Immediately after the partition, the Kashmir issue arose. The first war between Pakistan and India was fought over the Kashmir issue in 1947. The Pakistani army participated bravely in the 1947-48 war. Pakistan achieved great successes in this war, especially in the Kashmir valley, forcing India to retreat. As a result, some parts of Kashmir came under the control of Pakistan, which is today called Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The 1965 war was the second major war between Pakistan and India. The Indian army attacked Pakistani territory, but the Pakistani army not only stopped the attack but also conducted successful military operations in many areas of India. The Pakistani army defended valiantly in the Chela village near Lahore and the Sialkot sector. The Pakistani army demonstrated its capabilities on the battlefield.

The 1971 war was the third major war between Pakistan and India. During this war, the Pakistani army also put up strong resistance, especially on the western borders, and was successful in confronting the Indian army. Although the outcome of the war was unpleasant for Pakistan, the army demonstrated its determination and courage.

In 1999, another war took place between Pakistan and India in Kargil. The Pakistani army achieved major successes against India in this area, and forced the Indian army to retreat from some important mountain peaks. The Pakistani army demonstrated its war strategy, fighting skills in local mountainous areas, and determination on the battlefield in the Kargil War.

This time, the night between 6 and 7 May 2025 will be remembered in the military history of the world in that in just one and a half to two hours, India, the country that attacked Pakistan, had to suffer such a blow that it had to admit its defeat by hoisting the white flag at many check posts on the Line of Control. India targeted civilian populations and mosques in the darkness of night. In this attack, 8 civilians were martyred and 35 were injured. While two student siblings were martyred in the shelling in the Nakial sector. Pakistan responded befittingly to the Indian aggression and targeted military installations in many places including Kupwara, Baramulla, Rajouri, Kargil, Layyah, Poonch and Akhnoor. While the Pakistan Air Force shot down three enemy Rafale aircraft, one Sukhoi aircraft, and one MiG aircraft. In response to India's continuous attacks.

Pakistan launched Operation 'Banyan Marsus' (Iron Wall) on Saturday morning and targeted military targets in India through the 'Fath One Missile System'. It also destroyed the 'Brahmoos' missile in the Indian Beas region, the Udhampur Air Base and the Pathankot Airfield. It also attacked military bases in Jalandhar, Gujarat and Rajasthan. An arms depot in Chandigarh and the Sirsa Airfield were also destroyed. The Indian Military Intelligence training center that was conducting terrorism in Pakistan in Rajouri was also destroyed in the attack. Hypersonic missiles from the Pakistani Air Force's JF-17 Thunder destroyed India's $1.5 billion worth of S-400 system in Adampur.

Seeing such a huge destruction, the Indian government immediately contacted the United States and requested an immediate ceasefire. The US President mobilized, he contacted the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Turkey and offered Pakistan a ceasefire, which Pakistan accepted.

Pakistan's army is a strong institution that has played an important role in national defense and international relations. Pakistan's army has achieved successes not only on the battlefields but also in various missions around the world. Its history of strategy, bravery and sacrifices is remembered not only in Pakistan but also around the world. The successes of Pakistan's army are the result of its professional skills, determination and sacrifices made for the defense of the country. If Pakistan's army has proven its strength on the battlefields, it has also proven its presence in peacekeeping missions at the global level.

Pakistan's attacks will reverberate throughout the world

India fired its own projectiles in Amritsar, crossed the border and came back, which we shot down, forensics are being conducted: Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry

DGISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, while holding a press conference with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, said that India has created a false drama that Pakistan attacked 15 places and our air defense stopped them, India should listen, when Pakistan attacks, it will be seen and its echo will be heard, then not the Indian media but the whole world will tell that Pakistan has attacked.

DGISPR, while exposing the Indian drama, said that India fired four projectiles from Adampur, three projectiles were targeted in a general area in Amritsar, one projectile crossed the international border and we shot it down at Danga. Your armed forces are alert and we keep an eye on whatever comes from India, whatever is coming is being monitored and is being eliminated.

DG ISPR showed the debris of the Indian missile that entered Pakistan and said that its forensics are being done, that is why it is being called a projectile. Three such projectiles were deliberately dropped by India on its own city Amritsar. India is lying, Pakistan has attacked 15 locations, this is a cooked story, it can be laughed at, I ask some questions on this, is the Indian government and its army living in the 18th century or the 21st century?

He said that in the 21st century, every projectile leaves its mark, every projectile has a digital signature, there is no such thing as you can make up any story you want, the second question is when will the Indian government step out of the film world and enter the real world, India's imaginary phantom strike, we saw in 2016 when Uri happened, there was a phantom strike even after that but in reality nothing happened and it was claimed that a strike was carried out. Now India is saying, Pakistan attacked 15 places and our air defense defended brilliantly.

DG ISPR A Rika had said that where India dropped its missiles in Amritsar, they would have actually set fire to these crops, at least to make it real, where these projectiles were lifted and placed and pictures are being made and broadcast. So when will you come out of the cinema and come to the real world, the drama is being played that an attack is being made from 15 places which has no signature and you stopped it, if you have such a wonderful air defense system that on the night of 6th and 7th you came at the time and place of your choice, you had deployed your entire air defense, you knew that if you attack, there will be a response, then how did your 5 planes fall?. If your defense system is so wonderful, you would have stopped your planes from falling.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that India knows this very well that when Pakistan attacks at its own time and place, there is no need to tell your Indian media, but the whole world will know, then they will say that an attack has taken place today, they will play it again and again. Pakistan's attack will be seen and echoed.

The US is concerned about the Pakistan-India conflict, India attacked and Pakistan responded

JD Vance has said that the US is concerned about the Pakistan-India conflict, we have nothing to do with the Pakistan-India conflict, we cannot interfere in the war between the two countries. US Vice President JD Vance has said in an interview with US TV that the Pakistan-India conflict should be resolved soon. The US is concerned about the Pakistan-India conflict, India attacked and Pakistan responded. JD Vance said that we cannot interfere in the war between the two countries, we have nothing to do with the Pakistan-India conflict. The US can take the path of diplomacy, there should not be a nuclear war between Pakistan and India. He said that the clash of nuclear powers is always worrying, both countries should think with a cool head.

US supports independent investigation into attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir

We want perpetrators to be brought to justice and we support any effort to that end

Pakistan Air Force vs Indian Air Force: A Comparison of Capabilities, Technology and Strategy

On April 22, 2025, at least 28 people were killed and over 20 injured in an attack in the tourist destination of Pahalgam in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The dead included personnel from the Indian Navy, intelligence agencies and tourists. The attack was claimed by ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), which claimed that the attack was aimed at resisting the settlement of non-locals, which it sees as part of the demographic change in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The incident has once again brought into focus the defense balance and especially the air power comparison between Pakistan and India, the two nuclear-armed countries in South Asia.

The two countries are constantly competing for supremacy not only on the land and naval fronts but also in the airspace. The backbone of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is the JF-17 Thunder aircraft, the latest version of which is the JF-17 Block III. These aircraft are equipped with AESA radar, advanced BVR missiles and digital avionics. In addition, Pakistan has the Chinese J-10C, which is a modern 4.5+ generation multi-role fighter jet, and the American F-16 aircraft, which are considered the best for air superiority in dogfighting. On the other hand, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has Rafale aircraft acquired from France, which are equipped with Meteor BVR missiles, SCALP cruise missiles and advanced electronic warfare systems. And in addition, India has a large number of Su-30MKIs, while the indigenously developed Tejas LCA has also become a part of the Indian Air Force, but these aircraft are not yet considered capable of competing with the world's major air powers at a full operational level. India has over 600 fighter jets while Pakistan has around 350.

But when it comes to operational efficiency and decision-making agility, Pakistan has the edge thanks to cost-effective and highly integrated platforms like the JF-17. The Pakistan Air Force’s defensive strategy, training and professionalism make it a formidable air force even with a small number. The Balakot incident is a clear example of this, where Pakistan shot down an Indian MiG-21 and captured Wing Commander Abhinandan, sending a message to the world that not only the number of weapons, but also training, experience and quick response capability are decisive. The Indian Air Force has the advantages of technical diversity, large numbers and high funding, but it faces several difficulties in integrating systems. In contrast, Pakistan, despite its limited resources, has integrated planning, compatible technology, and dynamic command systems that are capable of responding quickly to any emergency. Modern air warfare is not just about strength or numbers, but strategic superiority, quick and accurate decisions, and effective training are the elements that give any air force an edge, and in this field, Pakistan has an edge over India.

Pahalgam incident: harsh diplomatic measures of India

The way India used the Pahalgam incident to create an atmosphere of war in the region by immediately blaming Pakistan without any investigation and taking harsh diplomatic measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, is rapidly growing in the global community. There is a growing sense of the unreasonableness of this behavior. The international community seems to be playing its role in preparing India for a transparent investigation.

In this regard, important progress was made by Russia, Turkey, Switzerland, Greece and Iraq yesterday. Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Nezerulu, in a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, made it clear that Turkey supports Pakistan’s stance on a transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident, while the Prime Minister, while thanking the Turkish government and people, pointed out the fact that India is conspiring to link Pakistan to the incident despite failing to provide any evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam incident.

The Foreign Ministers of Switzerland and Greece also confirmed Pakistan’s stance on a transparent and impartial investigation in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar yesterday. The Foreign Minister, while rejecting India’s baseless allegations and provocative propaganda in his conversation with the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Switzerland, clarified the dangerous implications of India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty.

The Swiss Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s readiness to investigate the Pahalgam incident and expressed his desire to cooperate in the investigation. The Head of Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Kaja Klass, in a telephonic conversation with the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India, urged both countries to exercise restraint and adopt the path of dialogue to improve the situation. Irani Foreign Minister Araqchi is also visiting Pakistan during the Pak-India tension, after which he will also go to India and meet high-ranking officials of both countries to discuss ending the mutual tension.

A very important development in terms of the mobilization of the international community to end the tension between Pakistan and India has come in the form of contact between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Foreign Ministers of both India and Pakistan. He has urged both countries to resolve their differences through political and diplomatic means within the framework of the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration.

According to the Russian Embassy, in an online conversation with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Lavrov discussed Pakistan-India relations. Stressing the need for bilateral communication, he said that differences should be resolved in accordance with the provisions of the 1972 Simla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration, which have agreed to adopt the method of peaceful dialogue for resolving disputes between South Asian neighbors.

Undoubtedly, the mobilization of the international community to end the tension between the nuclear powers of South Asia is not only a regional need but also a need for global peace and the progress made in this regard yesterday is very welcome. The wise course for the Indian government is not to let these efforts of the international community go in vain and, as Pakistan has offered, to fully cooperate in a transparent investigation of the incident with the participation of the international community, because the path of war would be disastrous for India itself and its consequences would be very serious at the global level.

Conflict is destructive for all

The role of the Modi government in the Pahalgam incident is as suspicious as it is for its political interests in the Indian state elections, credible evidence of it has come to the world in the last ten days. However, the continuation of threats without presenting any evidence of accusations against Pakistan proves that the Pahalgam incident was a heartless drama created for political interests and that is why the Modi government is following the policy of maintaining tension despite the complete failure of efforts to involve Pakistan in it. The clashes on the borders have been going on for eight days and the fear of any major conflict is present at any moment. In order to harm the Pakistani economy, the Indian government has tried a new tactic by demanding the IMF to reconsider its ongoing cooperation for the improvement of the Pakistani economy. In the meantime, it is necessary for the government, army and people of Pakistan to be vigilant and keep warning the international community to thwart any Indian attempt to disrupt peace in the region.

Yesterday, a special conference of Corps Commanders was held in this regard, and on the other hand, the Prime Minister met with the ambassadors of friendly countries and made it clear that if India is not stopped from its hostility to peace, a conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries will have severe negative effects on the entire world, so they should use their influence to end the tension. Meanwhile, the special Corps Commanders Conference chaired by Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir reiterated the country's unwavering resolve to maintain its sovereignty and territorial integrity. According to the conference statement, the recent incident in Pahalgam is aimed at diverting Pakistan's attention from its ongoing efforts for western borders and economic recovery. In this context, India is seeking to usurp Pakistan's legal and fundamental water rights by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, which it will not be allowed to succeed in.

The US Vice President has also acknowledged in his statement that Pakistan is a responsible country and hopes that it will cooperate in the investigation, while he inexplicably urged India to give a response that does not create a wider regional conflict. In a situation where Pakistan, with its offer of participation, has itself demanded that a transparent and impartial investigation be conducted into the Pahalgam incident, the US Vice President's suggestion to India to respond before any investigation and inquiry is not at all reasonable and the only reason for this can be to provide a way to save India from complete embarrassment. It would be better if the US Vice President reconsiders his suggestion and advises India to refrain from unrest.

In this unpleasant situation created by India, the position of Pakistan's all-weather friend, the People's Republic of China, is absolutely fair and unequivocal, which was being expressed continuously at the government level. However, in an interview given to CNN yesterday, prominent Chinese expert on global affairs Victor Gao also made it clear to the Indian media without any hesitation that China's determination in the matter of defending Pakistan's sovereignty should not be misjudged, the friendship between Pakistan and China is as strong as evergreen and steel. In these circumstances, the only sensible course of action for the Modi government is to move beyond the petty political tactics of short-term political interests and make good-faith progress towards a peaceful resolution of differences with Pakistan, for which Pakistan is always ready, while the path of confrontation is certain to prove disastrous for all.

New political twist in Canada

According to preliminary opinion polls, the Liberal Party has won the national election in Canada on April 28 for the third consecutive time. Although such elections are common in Western democracies, the victory or defeat of a political party does not have a long-term impact. But the reason for the surprising victory of the Liberal Party this time is that four months ago, this party was extremely unpopular among the Canadian people, and for this reason, Justin Trudeau, who has been the Prime Minister for the past ten years, had to step down from the leadership of the party and also resign from the Prime Ministership. Four months ago, the Liberal Party, which had a popularity of sixteen percent among the people, won the election on April 28 by winning forty-three percent of the vote.

Looking back at Canadian politics over the past few months, this charisma seems more a response to the aggressive behavior of the new US President Donald Trump than to the leadership ability of the Liberal Party. As soon as he took office, he criticized Canada in a disparaging manner, calling it the 51st state of the United States, and addressed the then Prime Minister as the governor of a US state. As soon as President Trump came to power, he adopted a clearly hostile attitude by imposing special customs on imports from Canada, which began a conflict between the two countries that led to a sudden rivalry between the friendly relations of the two countries. The whole world was shocked by the insults and threats of the new US President Trump, but for the Canadian people, it was an unbelievable act and a nightmare, and suddenly the entire nation was gripped by a new fear. And in view of this fear and inappropriate American behavior, Canadian politics also took a new turn, and the credit for this new political path goes to the outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who adopted a narrative of standing up to US President Trump's bullying and, while hinting at competition with America at every level, took up the task of highlighting the national solidarity of the Canadian people, completely shifting the axis of politics from internal issues to external threats. And the strong assumption is that the basis of the victory of the Canadian Liberal Party on April 28 is this anti-Trump political strategy.

If we look, not only in Canada, but in most countries of the world, during such crises, when a country is facing an external threat, the majority of the people are ready to sacrifice for the sake of national unity, ignoring internal problems. If we examine the democratic traditions and systems established in developed countries, it is clear that every election is decided by internal issues and very few global situations become the measure of the political priorities of the people. But the way the new US administration has launched an aggressive foreign policy has left the entire global system insecure, and the people of a neighboring country like Canada, in view of the threats of the new US administration, have put their internal economic and social problems aside and, contrary to past traditions, have ignored issues like inflation, health and education, and declared the Liberal Party the rightful candidate for their vote based on the government's bold stance on the foreign front. If we examine the current Canadian elections, it becomes clear that the political narrative of the Liberal Party government standing up to President Trump's bullying and threats has proven to be extremely beneficial in the elections. If we look at history, regardless of these elections, it is clear that no matter how fragmented or internally demoralized any country or nation is, it is a natural process to forget its internal differences and gather around the government of the day when it is overwhelmed by external fear.

This is what the Canadian election results indicate. The new leadership of the Liberal Party's challenge to President Trump during the elections and the rise of national support among the Canadian people appear to be the success of their political strategy, and thus Trump's threats have breathed new life into the faltering body of the Liberal Party, which was at its lowest point in its popularity four months ago, and have kept it in power. But if you look at it, it is also an indication that the demonstration of the awareness of the distinction between its national and individual interests by a conscious political society is seen only during crises, which brings to light the mutual solidarity and unity of a nation. For the Canadian people, the purpose of voting in these elections was to express their determination to assert their sovereignty by reacting to the aggressive behavior of the new American administration rather than their internal affairs, although this benefited the ruling Liberal Party politically.
