Assembly seeks record of cases, police raids, arrests against provincial
ministers, advisors and members of the assembly
PESHAWER: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati has sought record of police actions against members of the assembly, ministers and other parliamentary officials. A letter has been sent by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which complete details of all incidents related to members of the assembly, ministers, advisors, special assistants and parliamentary secretaries have been sought during the last two weeks.
The letter has been
directed to provide records related to the arrest, detention of the relevant
persons and raids, attacks and searches at their residences. Along with the
relevant reports and FIRs registered in the police stations, the record of the
persons who informed the police about the incidents has also been sought. The
letter said that the information has been sought under Articles 66, 67 and 127
of the Constitution of Pakistan, while the rules of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Assembly Reference is also made to the Rules of Procedure, 2025 and the
Provincial Assembly Powers, Privileges and Incentives Act, 2026.
