Notices were issued to all madrasas for violating building control laws and illegal constructions, CDA
Madrasas Akhtar Uloom, Ma’arif Islamia, Sharia Rabbania directed to submit construction plans, warned of sealing for violation
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Islamabad has issued notices to several madrasas affiliated with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan for alleged violation of the Building Control Authority rules. According to the private TV channel “Express News”, the notice issued by the CDA has revealed that several madrasas affiliated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman have allegedly violated building control laws. It has been said that notices have been issued to various madrasas for illegal constructions and violations of rules.
The CDA has declared the Islamic Madrasa Akhtar-ul-Uloom, Bilal Town, Korang Nala, Khanna Dak guilty of constructing without an approved building plan. The Madrasa Akhtar-ul-Uloom in Islamabad has been directed to submit construction drawings within 15 days, warning that otherwise, action will be taken to seal the other building. Similarly, illegal constructions have been identified in Idara Maarif Islamia, Sharia Rabbania, Tafi-ul-Quran, House No. 3, Street No. 6, Sector F-8/3 and it has been revealed that illegal constructions have been made on the setbacks and unauthorized constructions have been made on the roof in the said madrasa. The CDA has also objected to the use of the madrasa building as a madrasa instead of residential use and the administration of the said madrasa has been directed to eliminate all violations within 15 days. The madrasa has been clearly warned by the CDA that in case of non-compliance, the building may be sealed, fined and allotment may be cancelled.
In Islamabad, the CDA has started action against all buildings, including madrassas, to implement building control laws. It is worth noting that the CDA also pasted a notice at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence in Islamabad, indicating illegal constructions and violations of rules. The CDA has directed Maulana Fazlur Rehman to remove illegal constructions on setbacks in the house and has given him 15 days to remove the violations and has made it clear that if the violations are not removed within the stipulated period, action will be taken to seal the building or demolish the illegal constructions.
The CDA has issued a notice to Amanullah Muhammad Younis as the owner of the building, while on March 18, 2019, an order was also issued to remove encroachments from Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence. On the other hand, Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s son Maulana Asjad Mahmood has said in response that revenge actions have been initiated after encroachments were pointed out in front of the Corps Commander in Peshawar and when there was no response to the pointing out, the opponents have resorted to high-handed tactics. Maulana Asjad said that all the institutions of the country are being used to satisfy the vengeful feelings of one person, turning political differences into personal revenge is worrying.
