Rawalpindi: Barrister Salman Safdar was made to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in Adiala Jail. According to Salman Safdar, at 4:30 pm, Adiala Jail authorities held a 40-minute meeting with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He said that repeated Bushra Bibi was allowed to meet after 11 months and Imran Khan after 7 months on the basis of requests and complaints. Barrister Salman Safdar said that the duration of the meeting was insufficient to discuss all the cases and legal matters. Both the husband and wife informed about their health and the conditions of their stay in jail. The founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi also gave new instructions regarding some legal matters and cases.
While talking to the media in Peshawar, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar rejected Barrister Saif’s claims and said that the founder has been making every possible effort to meet the PTI. Barrister Saif’s claim that despite the offer, the founder did not meet the PTI is baseless. All his claims are false. He said that the founder tried every means of court and negotiation to meet the PTI. Despite all efforts, we were not allowed a single meeting, while access to Imran Khan during the negotiation process was also one of our conditions.
On the other hand, the statement of the meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf political committee said that there is no grouping or division in the party. According to the statement, the entire party is united with the leadership, ideology and mission of the founder PTI, and the party leaders and workers will continue their struggle for common goals. In the meeting, the PTI political committee considered the political situation, inflation and law and order in the country. The political committee declared that the detention of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Speaker and other parliamentarians is illegal, they should be released immediately.
Keeping elected representatives in detention is an insult to democratic values and public mandate. There is concern over the reports of the transfer of the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi to the hospital. Transferring the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi to the hospital without taking their families into confidence is worrying. According to the statement, the Supreme Court’s order for the treatment of the founder PTI should be implemented immediately. The family should be kept regularly informed about the health of the founder PTI, the family of the founder PTI should be provided with the facility of meeting and visiting, proper medical facilities and meeting with the family should be ensured for Bushra Bibi.
We condemn the arrest and mistreatment of the sisters of the founder PTI, the sisters of the founder PTI should be released immediately and allowed to meet. During the meeting, the committee said that there are reservations over the arrests of MNA Adil Bazi and other party leaders and workers. All party leaders and workers arrested under the MPO should be released immediately. No one should be subjected to revenge on the basis of political differences.
